What a Great Day at SQL Saturday #48

I am thrilled to be part of the SQL Server community in which so many speakers, volunteers and participants get involved with an event like SQL Saturday.

My day of learning new things & meeting new people was terrific.  And, I won two tech books, which just makes me giddy.

My morning started with Jessica Moss in a session on Reporting Services.  Then I watched my friend & fellow Mariner Matthew Campbell rock his presentation on Spatial Data.  Followed up by Andy Warren’s inspiring session on Building a Professional Development Plan.  All before lunch!  How great is that?

After lunch I learned a couple of things I can’t wait to try from Brett Tomson in his T-SQL Enhancements session.  Bob Langley gave a really thorough introductory discussion on Encryption.  To wrap up the day, my friend Rafael Salas presented extremely useful ideas in his Planning Your ETL Architecture With SSIS session.

A big thanks to PASS and all the organizers.  Can’t wait for the next SQL Saturday to come near Charlotte!
